Philadelphia History Lesson

I recently purchased Philadelphia: A 300-Year History
so that I can geek out on why all these factories are abandoned, and why the streets are so narrow, why it's hyper segregated, why why why.

Biscuit Recipe

I had brunch with Sarah M, my lovely poet friend on Saturday morning. I made my biscuits.

So good, not too dense or dry. They're just right.

Ingredients

Biscuits
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1.5 tsp salt
2 tbl sugar
.25 cup cold butter cut into small chunks
.25 cup buttermilk (if I don't have it I just put in milk)
.25 cup half and half

Preheat oven to 450. Mix together dry ingredients and then with your fingers mash in the butter to the flour mixture coating it in the flour. Then mix in buttermilk and half and half. Spoon mixture onto greased baking sheet. You should have enough to make 8 biscuits. Bake for 20 minutes or until brown on top.

Histology Slides $4

These are some slides Jason and I found at the Golden Nugget Flea Market this Summer.

We refound them while cleaning up our office, it's amazing how you can become reinspired by things you already have, but have forgotten about.

Someone Else's Life

I was sitting here thinking it would be so great to make things from only thrifted items and blog about filling my home and etsy shop with them.

Then I was looking at blogs and saw that someone has already done this, and done it really beautifully and well. Right here.

I guess I can go back to my already wonderful life instead.

Four Eyes

Is it nerdy that I'm excited that I need computer/reading glasses.

Probably not as nerdy as the glasses I chose.
