POD

So I've already given up on the picture of the day. I will become disciplined at some point. So instead of checking my photo site check out this guy who took a polaroid every day for 20 years until he died of cancer at 41.

Etsy

I sold another bag on my etsy store. This time to someone in South Carolina!

They're almost gone. You should buy one!

Greensgrow

There's an article in the NY times online about the coop where Lana and I are getting our food.

Check it.

Atlas

I found this cool jar at the Brimfield flea market, and decided it needed a fish. So I purchased Atlas, the magical beta fish.

Here he is in all his glory.

Scrabble

I was playing scrabble online with my friend Chris, and I was doing pretty fantastic until he came up with this 124 point move. Kudos Chris, you are the new scrabble master.

Things I've Learned

"If you're not crashing, you're not trying."

This is from the new Sagmeister website that I'm digging.

Mr. Softee

One of my favorite things about working at the Naval Yard is that we have an icecream truck that comes around on warm days and we get to run out to eat delicious softserve. My favorite is Vanilla dipped in chocolate, it's also what I used to get whenever I went to Dairy Queen growing up with my grandfather. Here's me and Bryanna enjoying our cones.

I'm off to Massachuesettes for a couple fun filled days of treasure hunting for work at Brimfield.

I hope to find some glorious things for the new house too.

More Talented friends

Claire is one of my favorite people in the whole entire world. I love her friendship and insight, and not to mention her glorious drawings of bizarro machines.

This is one of her sketches that I am currently obsessing over.

This American Life

A fantastic preview for season two of This American Life the TV show.

Blurb Book

I love the idea of creating my own book. And I discovered this website that makes it easy for you to create and publish your ideas. I can imagine making someone an amazing book filled with images and ephemera to commemorate an important event.

Gem

So my coworker Alex mentioned Gem as one of her favorite childhood cartoons. I think this video will explain to you a lot about Alex.

Yes, she's the one who lives in a Yurt.

This American Life

Quote of the night on at This American Life Live.

"Have you ever tried to google google?"

Steve and Barrys

There's a great article on the democratization of fashion at Steve and Barry's. Everything they sell is less than $10, and they have the huge names of Sarah Jessica Parker, Amanda Bynes, and Serena Williams on their side. They are also the people behind the Starbury phenomonon. Kids have been killed over $100 sneakers, so S&B got NBA star Stephon Marbury to endorse a pair of kicks for $14.95.

They even say their clothes aren't made in sweatshops....hmmm.
