Sustainable Bags

I can mark one of my New Year's resolutions off of my resolution list because I started an etsy shop! I made a bunch of bags that would be perfect to take to the grocery store instead of wasting all of those plastic bags. All of the bags are made of re-purposed materials, so they are truly sustainable.

I asked my coworker and resident music addict, Jeff, for some Nina Simone. Being the reliable guy that he is I was greeted this morning with a CD with over 10 hours of Nina Simone music, I guess I'll be "Feeling Good" for days to come.

Miranda July

I love the artist Miranda July. Her work just makes me happy. One of her projects Learning to Love You More was just made into a book. The project is a compiled list of assignments like take a flash photo under your bed, or ask your parents to describe what you do. It sounds super.

Boston

It's always lonely when Kenj goes away. I miss our intellectual talks, her cookies, and watching trashy TV together. The only good thing is that I get to spend quality time with Boston, Kenj's adorable dog. Have fun in Georgia Kenj!

More Prints

I was searching through the new Shoshanna line since I knew that they had purchased a print in the spring, and found another print from printfresh that I designed. It's under galleries:swimsuits: and then numbers 108-110. The line is carried by bloomingdales, neiman marcus, and nordstroms as well as a few other retailers, but none of these appear on any of their sites.

No more bags

China banned plastic bags saving an estimated 37 million barrels of crude oil every year. Uganda and Ireland have banned them also. I celebrated today by taking my reusable bags to target. I love it.

I also saw "What Would Jesus Buy" on friday with Joel which was made by the guy from supersize me, and listened to a great sermon on consumerism from the imago dei podcast. All of that has enforced my desire to tithe and find ways to use my money more wisely.

This month it's Anna Zhuravleva from the Ukraine to purchase raw fish to marinate for re-sale.

Nerdy Post

I love good magazine for a number of reasons, but one really big one is the way that they choose to display information. They make graphs into an artform. It makes me really interested in the information they are presenting, and they make that information easy to understand. Check out these examples.
