FABULOUS!

I love big adjectives. I say most things are glorious or amazing or phenomonal, so I was ultra excited to see this snack mix at the grocery store.

I believe it was made for me.

Slow Gardening

Some quotes from this article.

"...lettuce is embarrassingly easy to grow. I grew some in a hanging basket last year. All it took was a squirt of vinaigrette, and I didn’t even have to bend over to eat it."

“Basically, it’s instant gratification stuff, going to the grocery store for basil when you can grow it in the back of your pickup truck.” Mr. Rushing is not speaking hypothetically. He planted a garden in the bed of his beat-up, brown-and-white Ford F150.

Rat Race

I left Lana in the kitchen last night without even asking about her day because I was so exhausted. I set my alarm to wake up at 6:30 to run but hit dismiss instead of snooze and woke up just in time to jump in the shower and make it to work. It seems these marathon days of staying at work late, getting up early to go to the gym, and squeezing people in are wearing on me. I'm tired.

I'm tired of spinning my wheels trying to make the most of this life and still feeling like I'm missing out and letting people down.

I need a nap.

This was the best "I have no idea" photo I could find. Via here.

24's going to be great

This weekend was my 24th birthday. It started off with Earl Grey with honey and a biscuit sandwich with egg and chorizo at Honeys with my magical boyfriend.

Then me and my friends went and celebrated at the zoo since it was the zoo's 150th birthday. Followed by burgers on the grill and falling asleep to a movie.

What a great way to celebrate 23 whole years of life.

LA homies

After the longest week at work I've been ready for some good news, and yesterday I got it. Me and my coworkers Lindsey from my previous post and Alex are going to Los Angeles in July. I'm soooo excited. I'm getting paid to go flea market shopping. This is when my job is glorious.

Annnd I came in to an e-mail from my boss today saying that we must go here.

Feeling so good today.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Squeals of delight couldn't even adequately express how amazing Lindsey is. Her encouragement has gotten me through a number of days. She gave me her copy of the Happy Campers by Tess Carr and Kat Heyes for my birthday, and it has officially made me the happiest girl on this planet and all other surrounding galaxies.

Thanks Lindsey, I'm tearing up a bit!

In one week

I've had to design:
4: 5x7 Rugs
2: 4x6 Rugs
4: 2x3 Rugs
2: Round Rugs
2: Printed Quilts
2: Patchwork Quilts
4: Throws
2: Coverlets
8: Pillows
2: Floor Pillows
2: Jewelry Boxes
6: Frames
2: Platters

That's a total of 56 (I think) new designs from my brain that I've had to come up with in one week.
I'm tired, I need sleep.

Someone you know needs this

I'm selling a pretty Peruvian quilt on e-bay. It's made of alpaca and lambs wool and reminds me of alice in wonderland.

I know you want it, or at least know someone who wants it.
and yes I know it's on the bed upside down.

Dr. Doolittle

I'm watching Doctor Dolittle tonight and I'm so excited.

Maybe I'll become a professional creative Dog groomer.

Animated gifs

from here.
I'm obsessed with animated gifs lately.

I think it's because of this flip book photo booth that Lana and I experienced about a month ago. They're so pretty. It's like flip books for the web.

Stephen and Shauna

They seem to be the cutest couple in the whole entire world that makes the cutest stuff together.

Annnd look how amazing their north philly loft is.

I like it when creative couples make things together like Gene and Laura's pretty wall. Or the music of the weepies and mates of state. Or Jenna and Jeremy's entire house makeover.

It makes me really happy.

***Let's add josef & anni albers and charles and ray eames to that designing couples list too.

A Snow Poem for Haley

Sarah's one of my most favorite people ever. I sent a humble request this morning for a snow poem on this blustery day, and this is what I received. Maybe you can help me talk her into having a poetry blog.

A SNOW POEM FOR HALEY.

Here: This is what the snow falling makes me feel like:

Lazy-laying watching – shhh – it is never so quiet as when, and this treat is for me, from me, just because I exist on a day like today.

Huggling-snuggling because I know that the flakes will melt on my lashes but you the special you, that you that I huggle-snuggle with*) melts me.

Victoriously bouncing-and-ploddingly declaring my footprint the first in this millions-city, and my flag a kite – the new world’s even too bright for the conspiracy-theorists to find fault in the shadows.

Stopping-flopping, flailing in and out, back and forth, skyward facing everything illuminated like the bits of crystal falling down and these ground flat earth wings can lift me giggling, heart-soaring.

Hot cocoa and hot soup and fire places and blankets and movies or books and everything is slower and relaxing except for driving, and please don’t slip when you’re walking because it hurts and it’s so uncomfortable to watch (and so hard not to laugh).
